iR will attempt to host any multiplayer online game that a customer is interested in running. Some games cannot be hosted but there are a lot of games that can. iR will work with its customers to host any game even if it is not on our list. Ask us about hosting your game.

Many Geographic Locations
In order to provide our customers with the best servers available we understand that location is critical. iR game servers are in more locations than any other game server company. We also allow customers to switch locations if they find another location works better for them.

Web Administration
iR offers customers the ease of managing their server from a easy to use web interface. We also offer adminstration through alternate methods that can be used as alternates.

Quality Network Infrastructure
At each iR location we use multiple tier-1 providers. This gives you redundancy in case of network outages. We also use Gig-E connections to our tier-1 providers. This means that your server will be able to burst at high rates when it needs it.

High Speed Game Servers
Each iR server is added with the sole purpose of game serving in mind. This means that none of them run web, mail or any other server on them that is not needed for gaming. All of our servers are at least 2.0Ghz or faster.

It is very important to know however that the speed of the server is not really important. What is most important is server loading. Keep in mind that you share a machine with other servers on it, the faster the processor the more servers can be run on it. So what you really want to know is if you will get enough CPU cycles to run your game effectively.

No Lag Games
Lag in game is actually caused by many factors. iR wants to be very clear that NOBODY can claim "guaranteed no lag" game servers. Due to the fact that the Internet is unstable at best, lag is bound to happen some time or another. iR does want to make sure that lag will not be caused due to server overloading or not enough network bandwidth. Anything outside of that is out of iRs hands.

24/7 Managed Server Loading
iR has implemented in all game servers 24/7 load monitoring. Every 5 minutes data is collected to see how much a server is being loaded. This helps us to evaluate if for example an underutilized server sudden has become very busy for some reason. It will also help us to ensure that no server is being overloaded and in turn giving our customers the best CPU performance available.

iR Servers run both Linux and Windows
If a particular game has a Linux port iR will run the server for tha game on Linux. The reason is due to performance, remote access capabilities, cost and security. However many of iR servers do not have ports for Linux. These games must be run under Windows. iR is one of few server companies running Windows game servers.

FULL UNIX Shell Account
One of the big advantages of iR game servers is that we provide a full UNIX shell account with the server. This allows you to telnet, ssh, and ftp directly into your server to upload maps, uploads mods, restart your server and more. This account give you the maximum ability to do anything to the server you want. We do not restrict you to a restrictive web admin page for your server. You get FULL access with no limitations.

DNS Service For Domain Lookups
iR will provide you with DNS service for your web domain and/or server address. This can be either a purchased domain that you already bought or a free yourclan.ironrocket.com address.

Top Notch Support
Our tech staff are online gamers themselves. They have played all of the games we host and are familiar with much of the gaming details. They are UNIX experts and will be able to help you with any problem you encounter with your server at Ir. iR carries phone support from 9-6 M-F EST and a lot of the time answers much email support after hours, although we are not obligated to answer any support after business hours.

Web Hosting For Your Site
iR will give you 350MB of storage for your web site and host your web site at one of our web hosting facilities. We have dedicated servers for web hosting on different networks than our gaming networks to ensure priority for both gaming and web traffic.

Game Server Mailing List
To keep all your players in direct communication iR provides your server with a email mailing list. This list will allow you to add all your email addresses of your servers regular players to it for email conversation that goes to all members.

Game Server VoIP Conferencing
iR will gladly set you up on a VoIP conference that iR supports. Currently iR supports Roger Wilco, Team Speak and Ventrilo.

Many Physical Email Accounts
Fifteen (15) physical email accounts will be provided upon request for you and the members of your server.

Unlimited Email Aliases
iR will pass email messages destined to your domain to any other non-iR physical email account such as yahoo, hotmail, etc.

Massive Game Space
iR will allow up to 2GB of storage for sole use of your game server. This space can be used for maps, mods, and any other game required data file.

Unlimited Game Bandwidth
iR does not have any limit on much bandwidth your game pulls in a months time. We do however require all game operators to not set sv_maxrate above 8000. This is more than enough bandwidth for any high speed player and setting it higher is just wasting bandwidth.

Game Extras
On many games iR may provide you with mods already installed when you get the server. This could be popular mods being used regularly or stats packages, anti-cheat mods or similar. iR wants to make sure your game is in good working order when you get it and you dont need to add on stuff that most people expect as a default.
